Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh sliced peaches (about 4–5 medium peaches)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (divided)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Extras: pinch of salt, dash of cinnamon (optional)

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prep the peaches: Slice fresh peaches and toss with ½ cup sugar in a bowl. Set aside.
  3. Melt butter in a 9×9-inch baking dish in the oven while preheating.
  4. Make the batter: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, milk, and salt until just combined.
  5. Add peaches: Remove the melted butter carefully, pour in the batter, then spoon peach slices evenly over the top. Don’t stir—this gives it that classic cobbler layering.
  6. Bake 40–45 minutes until topping is golden and peaches are bubbly.
  7. Serve warm, ideally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
